Sustainability

01

Our materials

Organic cotton
From the beginning, we have chosen to use only 100% organic cotton. Only a very small part of the cotton produced worldwide is organic cotton. When organic cotton is grown, no pollutants enter the soil or the adjacent rivers, lakes or oceans.

GOTS certification
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is based on both environmental and social criteria. For our collections, we have chosen to use only 100% GOTS certified organic cotton.Transaction certificates for each stage of production guarantee traceability and the percentage of organically produced fibers in our products from the first processing step to the end customers. In sourcing our cotton, we want to be as responsible as possible and go a step further than the GOTS certification requires, so that we can consistently provide our customers with high quality organic cotton.

02

Chemicals

Our top priority is to ensure that the chemicals and other additives contained in our products meet the strictest standards throughout the supply chain to minimize and prevent harm to people and the environment.

The chemical handling guidelines applied at the production site comply with the strictest standards such as GOTS and Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX.
STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX is one of the world's most recognized textile brands tested for harmful substances.
Certified means that all components of an article, i.e. all threads, buttons and other accessories, have been tested for harmful substances and the article is therefore harmless to health.

03

We reduce environmental impact

By burning fossil fuels, cutting down forests and farming land, humans contribute to climate change by emitting CO2 and other greenhouse gases, which has devastating effects for the earth.
At Lieux Uniques, we recognize that it is our responsibility to limit and reduce the environmental impact we create.

CO2 footprint
Using two recognized calculation methods, the GHG Protocol and Bilan Carbone, we have quantified all CO2 emissions at each and every stage, from the production of raw materials and recycled materials, through product manufacturing and finishing by our official distributors, to product use and the end of the product life cycle.
In 2021, CO2 emissions totaled 90,300 metric tons. Less than 1% of these were Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.

04

Fair working conditions

Fair and safe working conditions and workplace well-being are top priorities for us at Lieux Uniques in operations and organization to improve Fair Wear Foundation. We are committed to ensuring that our partner factory pays a fair wage that covers the cost of living, while always looking for new innovative solutions to pay workers a living wage.
